Position Description

A Long Island-based rehabilitation services network is actively seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join one of their facilities.

About the Opportunity:

Shift: Days or Evenings
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 7am to 3pm or 3pm to 11pm
Setting: Correctional Facility

Responsibilities:

Conduct initial health assessments and daily sick calls for incarcerated individuals
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by facility healthcare providers
Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and basic life support as needed
Monitor and manage chronic health conditions
Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and correctional staff to coordinate patient care
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies
Participate in intake screening and assessment of newly incarcerated individuals
Ensure compliance with Department of Health and correctional healthcare standards

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
Solid assessment and documentation skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
